2008 USPTA World Conference Audio CD-ROM
This CD-ROM contains the audio recording of all 25 seminars that were recorded at the 2008 USPTA World Coference on Tennis in La Quinta, CA.
In what format is the audio?
The audio on the CD-ROMs is in .mp3 format, an audio file format most often used for music downloaded from the Internet, and used for portable music players. The .mp3 audio files are much smaller than .wav files, enabling all 25 seminars to fit on two CD-ROM discs.
Why won't these CDs play in my audio CD player?
The CD-ROMs are not audio CDs, they are CD-ROMs for use on a personal computer or other compatible audio CD players. The CD-ROM format enabled USPTA to use .mp3 audio files, which are much smaller, and therefore enabled us to include all 25 seminars on two CD-ROMs. There are some very new audio CD players that will play a CD-ROM containing .mp3 files. These CD-ROMs are compatible with those players. Some set-top DVD players also have this capability.
Will standard audio CDs of the seminars be made available?
No, a CD-ROM containing .mp3 files is the only audio format currently scheduled for production. However, many personal computers have the ability to make a standard audio CD from .mp3 files. The .mp3 files on the CD-ROMs are compatible with this process. See your computer help documents or your compter manufacturer's technical support Web site for more information.
Can the audio files be transferred to a portable player?
Yes, the .mp3 files on the CD-ROMs are compatible with many portable players, including iPod/iPhone/iTouch, Creative Zen series, Microsoft Zune and many others. Any portable player that can play or import .mp3 files will be able to play the audio.
Will the seminars from the World Conference be available on DVD as well?
Yes, many of the seminars and some of the specialty courses were video recorded, and will eventually be made available on DVD. Please check our Web site at www.usprotennisshop.com to see the newest released DVDs.
